Easy to install

The first step is to take off the original cover from your key. The original cover must be removed prior to the replacement is able to be installed.
After removing fiat key replacement after removing the old cover, you can use a flathead to pry the four main attachment clips off the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red on the photo below. Take note of the yellow tabs that have to be disconnected.
After removing the battery, replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 volt coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is aligned to the opening of the fob, and that the -" negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.
Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you have done this, place the fob that is on the driver's side back in your vehicle and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working as it should the parking lights will be activated and the doors should automatically close.
Easy to remove

When you remove the metal key, you will be able to see the small silver-colored round switch that has images of an unlocked and locked padlock next to it. This is the key fob battery switch. The battery is simple to replace by turning the switch a quarter turn using a tiny screwdriver with a flathead.
The key fob houses a microchip which communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert the key in your Fiat car, it presses a button on the ignition switch, which acts as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be able to read the transponder that is in the key fob and confirm that it's legitimate.
